Kent Sorrells
is a graduate of SIU-Carbondale with a bachelor of science degree in
Agriculture Economics.
Kent grew up on a farm
near Raymond, Illinois and after graduating from college, has worked
with his father and brother-in-law in a family farming, trucking and
grain elevator business. A grain elevator was purchased in 1985 and
as manager of this division of Sorrells Farm Supply, Inc., Kent has
helped it grow from 200,000 bushel storage to 1.6 million bushel
storage handing an annual merchandised volume of 6 million bushels.
Sorrells served six years as a
directory on the Illinois Soybean Operating Board, including service as
vice-chair of the research committee and delegate for the North Central Research
Program. Sorrells has also been active in the Grain and Feed Association
of Illinois, and is a past director on the Raymond/Harvel ambulance board
as treasurer 3 years and currently serves on the Raymond Park District board.
Kent resides in Raymond with his wife Sandy and
daughters Megan and Tara.
